01. Five Minutes To Spare

No matter how busy you are ,you could spend five minutes: To answer the telephone To read the morning paper To talk with a neighbor To dispute with the laundryman about a mistake To watch new furniture being unloaded next door To chat with a salesman To read a trivial letter Or to write one It takes only five minutes: To say a prayer for the suffering friend To stop and think of God's daily gift of mercy To remember the cross To make an act of faith, hope, and love To whisper an"our Father" or "Hail Mary" for someone in need To say a decade of the Rosary for the pour souls To vist the little statue or picture on the mantle place and tell the Savior how much you love him To make a spiritual communion Which is the better way to spend five minutes?

02. Life is a do-it-yourself project

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. he told his employer contractor of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by. The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes,but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shooddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end his career. When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed the front door key to the carpenter. "This is your house,"he said,"my gift to you." What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house,he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he had built none too well. So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living in the house we have built. If we had realized that we would have done it differently. Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for day more that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The plaque on the wall says,"Life is a do-it-yourself project." Who could say it more clearly?Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tommorrow will be the result of your attitudes and choices you make today.

03. Parenthood

If it was going to be easy, it never would have started with something called labor! Shouting to make your children obey is like using the horn to steer your car, and you get about the same results. To be in your children’s memories tomorrow, you have to be in their lives today. The smartest advice on raising children is to enjoy them while they are still on your side. The best way to keep kids at home is to give it a loving atmosphere - and hide the keys to the car. The right temperature in a home is maintained by warm hearts, not by hot heads. Parents: People who bare infants, bore teenagers, and board newlyweds. The joy of motherhood: What a woman experiences when all the children are finally in bed. Life’s golden age is when the kids are too old to need baby-sitters and too young to borrow the family car. Grandparents are similar to a piece of string - handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of grandchildren. A child outgrows your lap, but never outgrows your heart. God gave you two ears and one mouth.... so you should listen twice as much as you talk. There are three ways to get something done: Do it yourself, hire someone to do it, or forbid your children to do it. Adolescence is the age when children try to bring up their parents. Cleaning your house while your kids are at home is like trying to shovel the driveway during a snowstorm. Oh, to be only half as wonderful as my child thought I was when he was small, and half as stupid as my teenager now thinks I am. There are only two things a child will share willingly: communicable diseases and his mother’s age. Money isn’t everything, but it sure keeps the kids in touch. Adolescence is the age at which children stop asking questions because they know all the answers. A alarm clock is a device for awakening people who don’t have small children. No wonder kids are confused today. Half the adults tell them to find themselves; the other half tell them to get lost. People hardest to convince that it’s time for retirement are children at bedtime. Kids really brighten a household; they never turn off any lights.

04. A Smile is A Gift That Anyone Can Give

It costs noting, but saves much.

It enriches those who receive, without impovershing those who give.

It happens in a flash , and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich that he can get along without it; none so poor that he is not enriched by it.

It creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the countersign of friends.

It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sick, and Nature's best antidote for trouble.

It cannot be bought, borrowed, or stolen, for it is no earthly good to anyone until it is given away.

If you meet someone too burdened with grief or worry to smile, just give him one of yours.

For nobody needs a smile so much as he who has none left to give.

05. Wealth,Success&Love

A woman came out of her house and saw three old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them.

She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."

"Is the man of the house home?", they asked. "No", she replied. "He's out." "Then we cannot come in", they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"

The woman went out and invited the men in. "We do not go into a house together," they replied. "Why is that?" she asked.

One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love."

Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!" His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"

Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!" ” "Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest." The woman went out and asked the three old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"

The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but you invited Love, and wherever he goes, we go also. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!"

06. Yesterday...Today...AND Tomorrow

There are two days in every week that we should not worry about, two days that should be kept free from fear and apprehension. One is Yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed, forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed. Nor can we erase a single word we said - Yesterday is gone! The other day we shouldn't worry about is Tomorrow with its impossible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and poor performance. Tomorrow is beyond our immediate control. Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds - but it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow, for it is yet unborn. This leaves only one day - Today. Any man can fight the battles of just one day; it is only when you or I add the burdens of those two awful eternities- Yesterday and Tomorrow- that we break down. It is not the experience of Today that drives man mad - It is remorse or bitterness for something which happened Yesterday, and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring. Let us, therefore, live One Day at a Time!

07. Sand or Stone

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. In a specific point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE. They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE. The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?" The other friend replied "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it." LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

08. Advice from Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive then anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you've got anyway. You see, in the final analysis,it is between you and God: It was never between you and them anyway.

09. A Spiritual Message to America

10. Confidence

Every day is a new day in our life. There is much to do today. The early morning sun inspires us to start things freshly and put back our past. Only a handful of us make use of this fresh bunch of energy. In various walis of life this affects the way we behave and our confidence level. Confidence is a key to survive in this world. It is the only key tool to win the rat race in every walk of life. Confidence in ones owns capabilities combined with sincere efforts help one to achieve unthinkable heights. But many times we see that this basic element of confidence is missing in us. As a result of lack of confidence we perform well below our caliber. Be it in a public speech, proposing your beloved, visas for your college or in an interview or say even on the eve before your exams. This can be due to fear of being rejected or any other reason. If we look into our hearts and think, we will come to know that fear inside us I going to get us nowhere. The confidence inside us is going to take us places. This is because with confidence we can put our thoughts into words in a better and pleasing way. So we have to get out of that shell where we think whether people will accept us as we are? Instead of living in these unending moments of fear and thoughtless analysis, it is better if we project ourselves with the skills we have with the gloss of confidence. With confidence we can portray the finer points of our personality in such a way that the places where we do lack are never highlighted. Confidence should glow in us only till the point where our personality is boosted. Above this it leads to over-confidence that is harmful. Over-confidence results in unsatisfied performance levels as the seed of ego grows into a plant into our mind. We then imagine and make big talks just to maintain our ego. So guys don’t let the seed of ego to germinate in your mind, as this seed should be used only for you to live up to your expectations. Confidence is all about being cool, calm and composed. So guys do you have it in you? If you think you don't,boost up yourselves as your mind is your greatest mentor. You are your greatest helper.

11 . Being A Good Listener

Many people neglect this most important communication skill.

Do you know that we spend an average of our waking day communicating?

Of this communication time, 9% is spent writing, 16% reading, 30% talking and 45% listening.

Immediately after hearing something, most of us can recall only 50% of what we hear. Within two to eight weeks, we can recall only 25% or less of the original message. Our mental attitudes reduce our ability to retain what we hear.

Some suggestions to being a good listener are mentioned below.

First of all,

stop talking----you can’t listen while you are talking.

Ask questions----when you don’t understand, when you need further clarification, when you want them to like you and when you want to show that you are listening.

Don’t interrupt----give them time to say what they have to say.

Concentrate on what they are saying---- actively focus your attention on their words, their ideas and their feelings as they relate to the subject.

Look at the prospect---- by looking, it gives them confidence that you are, in fact, listening. It helps you to concentrate too.

Leave your emotions behind----try to forget your own worries and problems. Leave them outside of the meeting room. They will prevent you from listening well.

Understand the main points ----concentrate on the main ideas and not the illustrative material.

Don’t argue mentally----when you are trying to understand other people, it is a handicap to argue with them mentally as they are speaking. This only sets up a barrier between yourself and the speaker.

Use the difference in rate----you can listen faster than you can talk. So use this rate difference to your advantage by staying on the right track, anticipating what they are going to say, thinking back over what they have just said and evaluating the development of their argument. You speak at about 150 words per minutes, but you think at 250 to 500.

Learn to listen and you will achieve a great success in your life.

12. Beliefs

Your beliefs are very powerful and have the power to create or to destroy your life.

In most cases, whatever you believe, is what you will become.

If you believe that you are loser, that you never get a break in life, that you can’t accomplish anything, these things will be your reality.

Believe that you are unlimited, that you can do anything you commit to doing, and when you do, your accomplishments will know no bounds.

You control your beliefs, and that is how you ultimately control of your life.

This is a very important point.

So how do you develop beliefs that will empower you?

Many of our beliefs come from our environment, the world we live in on a daily basis.

If your environment is limiting your beliefs, then work very hard on changing it.

If you are constantly around people who are negative and limiting, find other people to hang out with.

Get around positive, successful people.

Beliefs also come from past experiences.

That is why it is so important to experience success on a regular basis.

Set small, achievable goals, and then try your best to reach them.

“I will finish this project by early afternoon.”

“I will make six calls on the phone in the next hour.”

“I will exercise for 20 minutes tonight.”

When you start to experience success, then you start to believe in success, and that leads to more and bigger successes.

Beliefs come from knowledge.

The more you learn, the more things you will know to be possible.

Always take advantage of opportunities to learn something new. It will bring new possibilities into your beliefs and your life.

Most importantly, you can develop new beliefs by setting and visualizing goals for your life.

Define your goals clearly and with precision.

Then, in your mind, see yourself achieving them in all of their sensory details.

Mentally live the experience, see the sights, hear the sounds, smell the aroma, feel the feelings. Your nurtured beliefs will lead you to their reality.

13.Communication Skills

Communication has been the major ingredient for the up gradation of the apes into human beings. Before language and the science of semantics were developed, facial expressions and body movements were the most sought after means for communication. Slowly the language started shaping up and now we have countless thousand dialects.

Language is a medium that binds all human beings. It is the unique form, which has been exploited and used to the maximum by us. But somewhere down the line, we used it only for the purpose of communication and not for enriching our knowledge and to increase our market value.

You would be thinking what I am getting at? In the following few lines, I will clear all the question marks in your head. Tell me the number of times you have been engrossed in a talk or lecture given by someone? Maybe once or twice or maximum thrice. Now the point to ponder is what was the distinguishing feature of that cogent speaker that didn't make your eyelids heavy with sleep? He would have had the knack to maneuver all your thinking, listening and visual channels towards him.

Closer observation would reveal that change of tone at the appropriate time, fluency in language, and proper translation of thoughts into words make his speech all the more appealing. He is able to give you what you want to hear and what he wanted to give the audience in terms of knowledge. And when this success ratio is unity, you never skip a word from the speaker. Communication skills are an important forte and they add a very important dimension to your personality.

When you communicate clearly and openly, you always make your wants, needs and doubts obvious. This clarity is essential to market yourself and synchronizes yourself with other two-legged intellectuals like you. You may not be that well qualified, but with good communication skills you can crack your interview and you can sell yourself convincingly. You then don't try to fill in a vacancy in a company but make a place for yourself.

Some of the essential tips for communication include:

Be clear, concise and straightforward.

Keep your sentences short. This will avoid grammatical mistakes.

Look into the eyes of the person you are speaking to. This gives a glimpse of your sincerity and dedication to the other person.

Even if you slip up somewhere, maintain your calm, apologize and continue. Don't try to reanalyze such slip ups, because we wish to promote ourselves and not demote.

So from now on communicate clearly, properly and openly, as after all the world doesn't know what you need. Does it?

14. Different Strokes of Our Duties

Life teaches us to live. To live, you have to exist. To exist, you should have a passport to this living world. Thanks to your parents, who brought you into this world.

Parents have taken care of us and satisfied all our needs. They helped whenever we were hungry, afraid or iii. They were always there by you, whenever you needed them. You almost assyned that they would always be there for you and never thought of how your life would be without them. But as you grow up, age also catches up with your parents and they need your help and support.

Man is a child first, after which he attains his youth. After youth he again goes through the second phase of childhood, also called as old age. This is the phase where everyone needs a cornfort of a sense of belonging and being taken care of. Woulch't we all expect the Same of security when we grow old? Even our parents are expecting us to be their caretaker, as they grow old.But they never make that obvious to us. They do their further duty by taking care of their grandchildren, paying e-bills, giving the clothes for laundry etc.

Isn't it unfair on our part that we aren't giving them what they need the most? It is our prime duty to take the very best care of them. It's our pay back time. Let's give the same sense of emotional security, care and love to our parents in their old age.

15. Expect the Unexpected

Sometimes in life we have to suddenly face situations, whice we can only think of in our wildest nightmares. When we imagine ourselves to be in a difficult situation, we derive more thrills out of it ,because we actually not experiencing it in real life and at the same time we having a marvelous adventure. The unexpected always gets us more excitement than the expected.

16. Feed Your Mind

Since the pre-historic times, man has had an urge to satisfy his needs. Be it hunger, shelter or search for a mate, he has always manipulated the circumstances to the best of his advantages. Probably this might be the reason why we human are the most developed of all living species on the earth, and probably also in the universe. As we climbed the steps of evolution with giant leaps, we somehow left behind common sense and logical thinking — we forgot that we have stopped thinking ahead of times.

If you are hungry, what do you do? Grab a piece of your favorite meal and stay quiet after that? Just like your stomach, even your mind is hungry. But it never lets you know, because you keep it busy thinking about your dream lover, favorite star and many such absurd things. So it silently began to heed to your needs and never let itself grow. When mind looses its freedom to grow, creativity gets a full stop. This might be the reason why we all sometimes think "What happens next?", "Why can't I think?", "Why am I always given the difficult problems?" Well this is the aftermath of our own karma of using our brain for thinking of not-so-worthy things.

Hunger of the mind can be actually satiated through extensive reading. Now why reading and not watching TV? Because reading has been the most educative tool used by us right from the childhood. Just like that to develop other aspects of our life, we have to take help of reading. You have innumerable number of books in this world which will answer all your “How to?” questions. Once you read a book, you just don't run your eyes through the lines, but even your mind decodes it and explains it to you. The interesting part of the book is stored in your mind as a seed. Now this seed is unknowingly used by you in your future to develop new ideas. The same seed if used many times, can help you link and relate a lot of things, of which you would have never thought of in your wildest dreams! This is nothing but creativity. More the number of books you read, your mind will open up like never before. Also this improves your oratory skills to a large extent and also makes a significant contribution to your vocabulary. Within no time you start speaking English or any language fluently with your friends or other people and you never seem to run out of the right words at the right time.

Actually, I had a problem in speaking English fluently, but as I read, I could improve significantly. I am still on the path of improvement to quench my thirst for satisfaction. So guys do join me and give food for your thoughts by reading, reading and more reading. Now what are you waiting for? Go, grab a book, and let me know!

17. How to Handle Critism

Criticism can be of three kinds:

1. That which is justified and fair.

2. That which may be justified but is delivered in a hostile manner.

3. The unjustified or brutal put-down.

Most people react badly to all three types of criticism. We tend to take critical remarks as a direct attack on our total worth. People in the arts and professions, if they good at what they do, use constructive criticism to their advantage. But most of us go to great lengths to avoid getting criticized. The frist step in learning to handle criticism:make sure you are really being criticized.

Most of the time, if you bother to examine the situation, no criticism was really intended. Also, don't invite criticism by such asking insincere questions such as-Did you really like it? Or how did I do? If you can't take a frank or honest answer to such questions you are better off not asking them.

If the criticsm is justified, see it in its proper perspective.

If a criticism is unjustified, practice control. Stay cool. Do not give the person who has unfairly criticized you the satisfaction of knowing he has scored.

It's always a good idea to consider the source. Criticism always hurts. But it should not hurt coming from the ignorant, the rude, the uninformed.

It is not good idea to brood on criticism. Try to dispors it quickly by judging it as either deserved or unjustified. If it is deserved, make a resolution to correct the fault and then forget it. Do not let criticism poison a whole day.

And, keeping in mind how much it hurts, you should not criticize others.

18. Identification of Goals and Planning

Last night , sitting by the window and gazing into the stars, I momentarily went back to my school days. I was just thinking why we are made to go to school and college and supposed to complete a particular course in a specific span of time. I mean why do I need 12 years of schooling ? Why is it that everyone follows the unchallengeable cycle of Montessori-school-college-graduation-post graduation-work? Then a theory just seeped into my mind, following the electrifying whiz of a busy mosquito that comfortably kissed my ears and buzzed away.

Starting from school,we learn the alphabets, the words the sentence that follow. Sentences lead to lessons, lessons to chapters and chapters to a subject. Many subjects form an academic year's curriculum. Upon clearing the exams we step onto the next year of education.though we did follow the entire procedure sub consciously and ceremoniously, we never learnt the moral of the unsaid fact. The fact is that school, college and other courses act as tool to achieve our goal and dream. We might dream of being a doctor, engineer, lawyer but without proper investment of time to gather intellectual content, our dreams are useless.

Every action in life is to satisfy a specific purpose. Purpose or need initiates planning and action on the part of the doer. The person, who wants to accomplish a specific goal, first chalks out plan. The plan is like an ideal curve . By being regular in his duties and responsibilities,he works towards his goal accomplishment in short bursts. After every burst or period of time,he tries to match his practical curve followed to accomplish the goal, with the ideal curve set in the process of planning. The closer the ideal and the practical curves are ,the more is the probability of the goal being achieved in the set time.

In short we identify our goals ourselves, but planning of education system is just done by the education ministry of our are. Once we have identified our goals,we pursue specilized coursrs in the direction of our goals. This is done in a systematic manner, starting from the basics like schooling to major specialization like engineering. But many a times it so happens that we loose track and wander around trying to reach unreachable goals.

Only realistic goals are reachable . Set achievable goals. After goal setting, debug it into small modules, which have to be achieved within certain time frames. Once all modules have been completed, the integration of them all accomplishes the set goal!

19. Important Of Being Busy

Routines are the unwritten alogrithms, followed by each one of us,everyday in life.Routines is a chain of events, which never changes their order, once it is prioritized.Following the routines is a schedule of events. For a student it would be writing assignments, attending school, coaching classes or doing a project. For a businessman brandishing the tiniest Mobile phone and shielded by the darker than black shade of Mercedes, schedule is restricted to attending meeting, presentations and entertaining new prospective clients.

Sometimes life becomes so hectic that you feel as if you are the only person to whom the whole world has been merciless amd that you are the only person who is working harder than anyone else. But this is the thought, which comes due to a thorough introspecttion of us.Even though others will be facing the same shade of destiny like us,still we find others to be very luckier than us.Yes,the other side of the grass is always greener and more fresh.

Maintaining your cool,at the times of difficulty and hectic schedules is the key to a bright carrier and successful life.Because unless we ourselves change the pace, with the change in times and keep ourselves abreast of the latest timetable of our organizer,we will fall behind.

However the more things one has to do or one is into, more is involved in,the greater the involvement in a mental, physical or social way into the things in which he is involved.Due to this his own personal problems are out of sight, because all the time his mind is thinking of completing the undertaker tasks.Problems once that they are out of sight, imply they are out of mind.

Each thing that we do,adds a new dimension to our personality. It shapes our thinking and makes us more organized, experienced, knowledgeable and creative. The time and sweat that we put in everyday into our tasks is the brick and mortar of our future. So friends,it is always better to be busy rather than idle. Now hasn't everyone heard that an idle mind is a devil's workshop?Behind every successful man is a devotedly followed hectic schedule rather than a woman.

20. Importance of Time

They say Life and Death are not in anyone's hands.

They are things that just happen every time and with everyone. Same is the case with time. Most of the times we take it for granted that there is always plenty of time. Due to this perhaps we indulge in various activities, which are a wholesale waste of time.

The clock is always ticking. The seconds keep on ticking just like busy ants. The ants keep themselves always busy by always hunting for food everywhere. Similarly the seconds always keep on ticking to attain short-term goals of making a minute with 60 ticks. After reaching a milestone of a minute the second's hand of a clock don't take a break, but start afresh for another round of 60 ticks. The take it minute by minute and inadvertently reach a quarter of an hour, and hour and then a day. They always focus on the smaller targets- that is a minute and the bigger aim of the clock itself gets fulfilled. That's why the minutes hand have to work less, as the seconds hand does most of the running around. The minute hand just has to make 60 movements on a clock dial. The hours hand is the luckiest of the lot. It just moves for 12 times in an hour. But the seconds hand movies for 3600 times around the dial for the same hour!

Parallel to this, in our life to we never realizes that we have lots to do. Between every big task we can always find enough time to fit in a plethora of smaller tasks. If you are waiting for a train at the station, you can always read a magazine or rather chalk out your study timetable for exams. While traveling in the bus too one can find enough time to at least skim through the previous days notes.

Be like the clock. Always keep on ticking by involving yourself in various things and learning new things. These small knowledge and experience modules will perhaps one day take you to your bigger goal some day. They say "Time and Tide waits for no man". If so, now stop staring at the screen and utilize your time effectively!

21:Keep Your Cool

Everyone would have heard the famous phrase " Anger is one short of danger".It is an age-old adage, but it is tested and still holds ture. Thing said or done during anger have created havoc with a lot of people and things. the tightly packed bag of mental frustation erupts into a volcano of anger.

But basically lets try to analyse why oue gets angry? When one is not satisfied with the way things have gone, when someone has been taken in for a ride, when one blames life for treating him badly, and many such trivial things are the various reasons. All the frustrations get collected on one part of our mind and when we can bear it no longer, our feelings are vented in the form of a volcano of emotional tantrums. Anger is one of the major handrances in self-development, because it narrows our outlook. The mind looses its sense of logic and fairness, when it is accelerated by the arrogant mood of anger.

Getting angry can get your things done somewhere, but not everywhere. This is because as you grow, you yourself are responsible to clean your recycle bin of emotions and frustrations. No one has the foresight or capacity to judge what has bought you to that violent mood or what hardships you have faced. Angry people hardly go places. The closer one comes to this piece of reality, the better he will get.

The best way to counterattack anger is to imbile patience in ourselves. A person with infinite patience has matured mentally, and is the bravest war-horse over the path of anger. He controlled himself everytime and got away from trying circumstances using the best lifeline available. Such people are always in peace with themselves and are always enjoying life.

Anger is never good and it increases anxiety levels of the individual. When one is angry, the heart pumps a lot more blood than the normal capacity and hence it leads to high blood pressure. This may also cause a heart attack. So always be like the hard working duck, which is calm and composed by its expressions, but padding like the hell at the bottom. For human beings this means that, we have to keep moving in life by hard work. Never let disappointment and frustrations rule you. You make your own future and destiny, by following the right attitude.

After all, it's all in a state of mind. Everyone has two options. One is anger and the other is maintaining your composure through patience. I choose the latter one. What have you chosen?

22:Kiss of Reality

To talk of illusions, are't they great? illusion or day dreaming help us to think of what we want to become in life. We literally see how life revolves us in that position . It's an entirely different world of pleasure, comfort and imagination. Most of our day dreaming or illusions make us more and more egocentric. The word ego means self . Hence by dreaming and visualization we become self-centered. We never realize that things we dream of can be achieved by us by programming ourselves to work for it . But somehow the pleasure of dreaming ourselves as someone important takes us away from the realistic approach to achieve that level of self-satisfaction and self-accomplishment.

This leads to an increase in the frustration levels of our mind . Why frustrations? This is because what we are, and what we dream of are totally different . We raise ourselves to a very high pedestal and we see that we are not able to live up to our expectations. And when this happens, we become mentally restless.

The vital solution that will dissolve all our problems is to make up our minds to get realistic . This approach will make us come in terms with reality. And there is no better road to self-improvement rather than the path of reality. When you gauge yourself , you subconsciously make two columns in your mind. One consists of the things that you are good at ,and the other consists of the ares where you can improve. And believe it will boost us to work on our weak areas and strengthen them. Fortifying your weak areas will harness your conscience and improve you convert would be to must be. And when someting must happen, it always happens. This new you will improve you for the better and increase your levels of self-esteem.It will change your outlook to things.

I would like to type the thoughts that have just sprung up in my mind. Read and ponder on each line.I admit that it's a sad aim at poetry, but I am allowing my mind to control my typing.

If you want to achieve what you couldn't have

If you want to be what you want to be

If you want to do what you can do,

but aren't doing

If there is a place, you want to be

but haven't been

You will get there, become the one and do it

Cos its all in a state of mind.

Make up your mind and rule the stars.

Control your mind and make your fate.

I hope this conveys my thoughts with clarity. So it's some advice and suggestion to all those eyeballs running through this part of the book, to keep their heads on their shoulders without using heads and shoulders! And believe me guys; you guys have it in you to make it big . Just don't let that teenage iconoclastic habit rule over sense.

23:Listen to Your Inner Voice

Is there inside you?

Very much ,ever since you were brought into this world. when you coulden't open your mouth till the first two years on planet earth, inner voice is the one through which you interpreted and understood things.

Inner voice is the voice mouth of the subconscious mind .the subconscious mind is always acting as a secondary reflector of thoughts and ideas in the body. It justifies and rationalizes what is right and what is wrong. When we go aganist what the inner voice say we get a guilty conscious and are bothered by it throughout our lives.

At times when we are feeling low or those unforgettable moments when we are let down, we seem to need some kind of emotional or mental support. We usually speak to our closest pal or our dearest family member during times of distress to ease the burden .At such times we get over the initial drizzle of emotional anxiety and mental restlessness, because of the pepping up by our empathic listener. we suddenly feel rejuvenated because our inner voice alerts us to get on with things and leave the things of past on the memory books of our brain.

The inner voice is always right most of the times because it knows us better than others and probably even ourselves. It is the dare devil child of the intuitions which we have been having since childhood. It's good to go by intuitions most of the tims because its the response provided due to the synchronism between our mental and physical being.

Whenever you are trying your first cigarette, or whenever you are asked to take sides in an argument, you are always in a sense of dilemma. During these times your inner voice automatically gives its verdict, which when over written, might leave us unhappy in the future. It's up to us to either ignore the morale booster inside us or go out to the world and search for spiritual guru's and happiness, when all these things are very much present within us.

24:Loneliness

A man is known by the company he keeps they say. If it is so,then everyone is bound to have their baggage of loneliness with them as companions.loneliness is not something that doesn't exist at all with any human being on earth.Every human being feels lonely in his life at some point or other. It's but natural to have such feeling ,because that's what makes us all human and that is why we are as we are now.

If we shed some light on why we feel aloof or lonely at times, we would be very much astonished or even probably surprised by the results. We ourselves are responsible for our selfdefined gloominess. This is because at times we really feel that we are uncared for or feel someone doesn't understand us.

Sometimes we over analyze real life situations and have this growing sense of self pity inside us. This feeling always gives us thoughts which picturise us always receiving the wrong end of the stick in life. The truth might not always be true if we touch our heart and see. Its just that our expectations in life and from people around us or circumstances that we are facing, have got the better of us. Expectation is the silent killer which murders millions of mushy and time tested relationships. If there would have been no expectations from anyone, the world would have been a much better place to be. If there would have been no expectationds, not many people would have had an aching heart and a life long grouse against there would have been better haves. If it wouldn't have been for unreasonable expectations not many couples would have divorced each other.

How to come out of expectations them? Good question. The answer is when you give something, don't expect anything in return. When our mother gave birth to us, she never expected that we will give birth to her.She has just fulfilled her desire to raise a family and live for them. In the same way, let our actions make us live for our self and let not expectation screw up the major portion of your lives. Let us have the freedom and will power to express our love, affection and longingness for people whenever we feel. Let us not restrict our freedom of expression just because he or she is not responding the way we want them to.

Well all in all a little bit of loneliness is good for a self-analysis to keep a check over your actions. Introspection always makes you communicate with the innerself, but too much of introspection can make you scale the altitude of self pity. So show restrain at the right time.

25:Mistakes

Mistakes

Mistakes and errors are the disciplined true which we advance in life. Mistakes are great teachers. Success comes to those who are willing to risk making mistakes in the pursuit of their goals and aspirations, and who are able to learn from those mistakes. And in order to learn from mistakes you must be willing to pay for them.

Mistakes can be enormously valuable, but when you try to get others to pay for your mistakes, then you deprive yourself of the opportunity to learn from them. When something goes wrong, it's usually very easy to find someone else to blame, but what does that really accomplish?

Much of the value of mistakes comes from the fact that they demand a cost that must be paid. The person who learns the most from a mistake is the person who pays the price for that mistake.

When you make a mistake, the lastthing you want to do is run away from it. You need to accept it because you can learn a lot from it. The mistake has been made, so make the most of it. Pay the price, learn the lesson, and grow that much stronger.

When you make a mistake, don't look back at it long. Remember the reason for it, and then look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom. The past cannot be changed. The present is still in your power. Take full advantage of your mistakes to achieve your goals and aspirations.

26. Redefine Yourself

How do you difine yourself? As a mother, father, daughter or any one of a myriad different titles? Or do you define yourself by other's perception of you? Do any of these come close to your own knowledge, your personal experience of whom you really are?

In your quiet moments, in times of inexplicable joy, have you had the overwhelming and yet clear and lucid feeling of total invincibility -- a feeling that nothing can hold you down, that you can accomplish anything and everything if you put your mind to it? Well, that feeling is not a random one.

What is ti that gets in the way of your exquisite power?

In fact, the infinite power that is naturally present in each and every one of us by virtue of own consicousness, can be rendered ineffectived if not tended to properly. The stress of our lifestyle, the pollution of our environment, and the collective stress of our world keeps us from functioning at our full potential.

But there are remedies: incorporate modalities in your lifesyle that effectively combat stress and help keep you centered. Some of these opinions are:

Be aware of what you eat, what you use-- both on yourself, and in your environment. Choose natural, organic products.

Live a life of kindness, compassion, and charity-- it keeps you connected to your center, your source, that infinite reservoir within you that is your powerhouse.

Don't judge people, or situation-- approach each moment with the potential of any number of possibilities.

To connect with your real nature that is unbounded and invincible, practice yoga and mediation

Once you are in touch with your true nature, then nothing is beyond your means-- you are truly empowered. And that is an accurate definition of you!

27. Variety Fuels Creativity

Variety is the fuel for survival.

Variety injects the fluid of creativity in the most barren of minds. To be grooved on to your POA of a successful career life, variety combined with flexibility to fit in changing circumstances is the major mantra of the hour.

No job can be done in one single way. The more one explores, more will be the different dimensions that will be observed which can help to complete a job. It is logical to choose the better way of doing a thing among various available options. Innovation is your own discovered way of doing a job, that has been appreciably noticed and yielded favorable results. Innovation is just like a fresh paint being splashed on the walls of creativity.

Innovation is not something that cannot be achieved by us. Belief in ourselves jelled with the unique distinction of having the ability to give concrete shape to our values and ideas is what that separates the boys from the men. It takes a lot of guts to venture out and execute the algorithm of ideas on our mind. The initial phase is the toughest, which will not find give you any favorable takers or pushers. But to keep on going when the going is tough is what that takes a test of mental perseverance and never say die grit and determination.

For students they can spice up their lives with variety by focusing on extra curricular activities apart from academics. Agreed that academics are the time-tested key to a good career and a secure job, but the books don't make you become street smart. No matter how long you have read on swimming, unless and until u enter the water and swim, all the reading is useless. The recipes given in a cookery book are not there to be read like a book, but to be tried practically. Extra curricular activities help one to deal with people, tells one the areas where theoretical theories can't be applied in real life and also changes the individuals outlook to various problems. Also time management becomes easy by involving one in various activities. Remember that only a busy man can find time, because he knows to set his priorities and take out time even for the smallest task, no matter how busy his schedule is.

Variety is the spice of life. Just like different spices flavor the food in a different way, variety flavors any task. The aroma of creativity revitalizes the mind to open its creative reserves.

28. Self-Confidence is Essential to Success

Nothing succeeds like confidence. When you are truly confident,it radiates from you like sunlight, and attracts success to you like a magnet.

It's important to believe in yourself.Believe that you can do it under any circumstances, because if you believe you can, then you really will. The belief keeps you searching for answers, which means that pretty soon you will get them.

Confidence is more than an attitude. It comes from knowing exactly where you are going and exactly how you are going to get there. It comes from acting with integrity and confidence. It comes from a strong sense of purpose. It comes from a strong commitment to take responsibility, rather than just letting life happen.

One way to develop self-confidence is to do the thing you fear and to get a record of successful experiences behind you.

Confidence is compassionate and understanding. It is not arrogant. Arrogance is born out of fear and insecurity, while confidence comes from strength and integrity.

Confidence is not just believing you can do it. Confidence is knowing you can do it.Know that you are capable of accomplish anything you want, and live your life with confidence.

Anything can be achieved through focused, determined effort and self-confidence.If your life is not what you want it to be,you have the power to change it,and you must make the changes on a moment by moment basis. Live your priorities. Live with your goals and your plan of action. Live each moment with your priorities in mind. Act with your own purpose, and you will have the life you want.

29. Think What You Are

Carbon and oxygen taken together, one atom each, gives you the deadly gas carbon monoxide. On the other hand, these very two elements on some other proportion provide us with carbon dioxide, the harmless gas. When these basic elements can behave in this way so can the human mind!

All human beings inhale the air from this very earth, consume nearly the same kind of food and live under the same sky gaining energy from its only source Sun. Then what makes an individual distinct from each other? It’s the attitude, the behavior that distinguishes one from other person. The thought process going on in our brains is what differs.

Solely our brains control our body, which in turn controls our living, our peace and happiness and overall progress as an individual. What we input is what we get. What we think is what we develop into. What we feed into our brains is what we get the outcome as. On reaping good thoughts and positive attitude in our minds the good follows. Bad thoughts creeping in should be plucked and thrown off as soon as possible.

Human body takes commands from its brains and works. Our brains are functional always. So any kind of thought nurtured in our brains remain there even when we are not aware of their presence. These thoughts are processed without our conscious and the result follows. These outcomes can change our lives. At times when wrong words are spoken, they remain in our sub-conscious minds, without our awareness, and the wrong follows.

Brain as a physical thing is not aware of what is right and what is wrong. When we think about things in some way and the perspective with what we look at them for the first time remain in our mind. Our mind intends to take this perspective as true and makes way for it to follow. So on thinking well the good happens and wrong thought brings unhappy situations. Human beings learn from the situations faced in life and their thinking is affected by the circumstances faced. This in turn affects the thinking. Thus our life and our thoughts are mutually related. To lead a good life it is desired to think good.

So is rightly said, “What you think is not what you are… but what you THINK is what you are!”

30. Rules of Credibility

Progressive future and successful life require discipline and character. These things are embedded into the pattern of our lives through proper education and interaction with fellow human beings.

A solid foundation of time tested nurtured values attach a character to each and every one of us Finally, wherever we go we carry our character sub-consciously with us.

A person is character personified only if he has enough creibility. Credibility is an essential attribute that is built on the elements of integrity, reliability, veracity, competence and commitment. Credibility shines in those people who are ethically motivated. Credibility is an important tool in improving your people skills. Credibility ensures a person to win the genuine respect, confidence and trust of others. To build up enough credibility we have to have a gel of following elements.

Integrity: In simple words it means standing for your values and be firm on your view.Integrity is an essential factor to win the adulation and trust of others. Intergrity is the solidarity with which you make your presence felt.

Reliability: reliability is a very addictive breeding ground for mutual trust and improved interpersonal relations.Evidence of reliability lies in the consistency with which we deliver on commitment, promises and statements.

Competence: competence is the combined effort of knowledge application, experience and conscientions effort to the best possible solution for a given problem. When deadlines have to be met at the earliest a person's competence is the only handy tool that will see him through that deadline . A competent person has no ifs and buts in his vocabulary. He won't fix a blame for failure on something or someone, but will modulate himself to rectify the situation.

Commitment: A proper canalization of one's energy , enthusiasm, talent and thoughts into completing a given project or thoughts is commitment. Commitment calls in for a firm mental resolve to fulfill the job at hand and see it through. A committed person won't rest on his laurels till he has completed his duty .

No one is born perfect. But one can hone one's skills by being true to oneself. Early realization of the important change in your life can take you places. So be far sighted and yes do let me know the results.

31. Rise above the Ashes around You

The greatest high in life is when u fall in love. Love, well u cannot snatch it, lock it or create it. It should come from within you. Being in love is an experience and only if u go through it u will know the intricacies of it. U feel your best when you are in love. Love is a process where your brain has taken a backseat and your heart is working overtime.

Love is not just a four-letter word, but it's a totally different feeling, which takes your entire body, soul and mind to altogether a different world. Love can neither be created nor destroyed. It passes from one person to another. The total amount of love in the universe always increases and never remains constant.

I like any normal human being have had a lot of crushes from my childhood. How often do we use the word crush? All the feelings and thoughts are dumped into it, if we make no further progress with our infatuation. This happens not only for the fear of rejection, but also because many of us fail to approach. If this ego had disappeared, probably a quarter of us would have been in a love relationship with our crush.

Till now my most long lasting crush was on a girl, studying in the same classes as me, when I was in my final year of schooling i.e. in 10th.It lasted for almost 7 months. During the lectures, we used to look at each other, with our eyes doing all the talking and our lips just sealed like an envelope. Even when she used to go in her car, she used to look back and I would just look for those eyes and not for the vehicles around my bicycle. Every book I read at home never ended without me thinking at least a million times about her. I used to ponder whether it was love? Or was it that she didn't like me and so she stared at me? Rather than bothering about the tutorials in the classes, I used to spend minutes in front of the mirror (mind you it takes only seconds for guys) grooming myself to clear even the last ruffled hair on my forehead, before going for the classes. Every song I heard used to remind me of her. Shy as I was, I never made an attempt to speak to her. To be frank I also didn't have the guts. Then I made the biggest mistake of my teenage life. I went for an introduction with my crush through a common friend, who was known for all the wrong reasons. Then those un-seasonal rains of threats distorted the fine painting of love on my mind. I asked myself whether I was wrong? I argued that at no point of time did I trouble her, but just adored her. So my feelings were divine, but they were interpreted wrongly. Well u don't get a feel of a movie by just looking at the reel of magnetic tapes. Don't you?

The second significant crush was when I had gone to a cousins place, a year after this incident. I saw her and I don't know what attracted me to her. I was wearing a spectacle the frame of which covered my whole face like the windshield of a car. My dressing sense was also gross. I was very conscious and was fighting for getting fluent English out of my mouth. This was because I had been to an English medium school where the local language Hindi and Marathi were prevalent. I spoke very less when I was in the group and between talks my crush made some personal remarks on me. I couldn't take it. But I kept a smiling face. After that, only I know how many sleepless nights I had spent. In many tones the same words used to haunt me. I then decided to bring a drastic change on myself. So gone were those spectacles and a new pair donned my noses. I became choosier and imaginative in the way I clothed myself. The English vocabulary also improved, as I became a voracious reader and "a-novel-a-day-maniac". Then after some years of friendship and 3-4 movie dates came the day when she forced me to tell the times she had hurt me. Ya to be exact, it was on Friday 23rd of July 2000 to be exact and 8.39pm to be precise. After a lot of skipped heartbeats and rushed breathing I narrated the incident and she gave her apology. She said she was totally unaware when she spoke about it. I was feeling peaceful after a long time.

Many times we speak more where we don't have to, knowingly or unknowingly and hurt others. It is really tough to go through the emotions, when people have hurt you. Especially for Geminines like me, who have an inner core only for themselves. They won't share it with anyone, no matter what. So even after being low on morale, to come out of things successfully with significant improvements is a challenge. This is what my principle" Rise above the ashes around you" is all about. I always pep myself up by saying, "Keep improving for the better".

PS: - At no point of time was I trying to boast about myself. If still there is some element of self-praise, in the above piece, I owe due apology to my readers. In my future articles, know more on what happened next with my second crush and the cyber love I was involved in.

32. Power of Selftalk

Life is like a big swing, dangling between the depths of happiness and sadness. As soon as we descend down the slope of sadness, we accelerate over the ever-feel-good acclivity of happiness. At times of distress, when we are down we slip over an abyss of emotional trauma and frustrations. One who can rise above the occasion, is the architect of many wins over sorrows.

To come above tougher times you have to pep yourself up, when you are feeling low, lost and confused. This can be done effectively by self-talk. Self-talk is a way of talking to oneself. It can be effectively used for soul searching. When talking to ourselves, we hardly lie as our conscience controls our speech. Self talk is efficient because when we are vocal about our thoughts, it makes a larger impact on our mind. Our brain then receives the same message from the mind as well as the ears. This repetition of pep talks and thoughts fine tunes the performance of the brain.

Self-talk is a software, which when properly loaded onto our mind directs ourselves for better results and a healthy mind. Actually many times in our life, we find others advising us to do better in studies, sports, life etc. We usually get bugged by these people and blank our ears out of their constructive suggestions. It is because it doesn’t come from within us. And when something comes from within you, you always try your best to do justice to it. Self- talk can thus ameliorate our status.

Each one of us have some good points and some bad ones. Though we hardly admit in public, we know in our mind that we could do better in some areas of our personal landscape. This get better attitude can be converted into a practical reality using self-talk.

If you are an introvert and you want to be the gregarious person like you friend next door, all you need to do is talk to yourself. Tell yourself with all the sincerity and emotions that "I can be like him. I am a natural born speaker. I do like people and speaking comes naturally to me. I just have to be ready to listen and speak". Suppose you love a person and want to tell him or her, then just say to your selves "I love her with all my heart. She is the only one and I know it. If I don’t let her know, it would be grave injustice on my part. Every person loves to be loved. Even she will". These are just some examples I have explained. It’s up to you to program your own mantra.

If you are highly optimistic to do better, there is no better motivator than self talk. So guys start talking.

33. The Divine Romance

Our life defines it! Yet we long for it, we think about it, we try to visualize it and we philosophize about it. We all have it in us to be one with God. We fail to notice it because we are so blinded by the matrix. We think that it is too high a goal for us and take comfort in what we are familiar with. If only we opened our eyes and see beyond? If only we open our mind and tune into the Divine energy which envelopes us wherever we are?If only we ask questions, God is waiting to give all answers we could possible handle!

On Relationships

All of us love freedom, whatever kind it may be. To be free is human nature. Why is it so hard to accept nature? We accept the flowers, the insects, the trees, and the waterfall. We don't question nature. So why question freedom? We enjoy nature. So why not enjoy freedom. We share nature's beauty with our loved ones. So why limit freedom to ourselves?

All men are Shiva and all women are Shakthi. Shiva and Shakthi are deeply in love. There is great love and attraction between them. So, it is most natural that we as embodiments Of Shiva and Shakthi are bound to be attracted or fall in love with many people. Shiva and Shakthi find infinite ways to Make love to each other and we, as humans are one of the ways. We are just another playground for the Divine.

Marriage can be a healthy way for two people to feel one. But unfortunately, society has re-defined marriage to be a one-to-one and dependent and needful relationship between two people. We have been trained to listen rather than to live. What a pity?nbsp;

True love exists without any dependencies, any expectations?just you and the Universe.

Thoughts or Feelings?

When I was in school, I think it was the eighth grade, there was a debate in class. The question was the following: Is it the brain or the heart that is necessary to live? Interesting question. I forgot about it for so long and now, the question becomes real. I translate the 'heart' as 'feelings' and the 'brain' as 'thoughts'. So, what is necessary to live - feelings or thoughts? Thoughts take you deeper into the matrix. They make you analyze, decipher, conclude. Analysis comes when there is Doubt. In God, there is no place for doubt or questions. Only answers that are nothing but the truth. Feelings are also thoughts at some level. The difference is that feelings can be experienced while thoughts can only be imagined. Feelings are proofs. They are real. Thoughts are almost real but are not.

On Happiness

So, what is it that makes us happy or unhappy in life? Many things. There are things external to us and internal to us that makes us happy or unhappy. Anything that is external to us is not permanent. That does not mean that everything internal is permanent. When our focus is internal, we sometimes have more control over our happiness. We can choose the things that make us happy. When the focus is external, we are totally at the mercy of our environment, letting it decide our happiness. If there is one thing that all of us want unanimously, it is happiness. We have to understand that everything is a process.

Our only role in life is to be aware of this process. Not manipulate it. Yet, that is what all of us do. We try to run our lives.

But why ?! We 'think' that money will give us happiness. We 'think' that sex will give us satisfaction. We think. That is the Problem. Thoughts come when there is doubt.

I will give a simple example. I am a mother. I have bought this wonderful bicycle for my son for his birthday. He has told me many times that he wants one. I know that he needs one. My son comes up to me and pleads for one. I feel funny. Coz, I know he already has it but just has to wait till his birthday. I wish he trusted in his mother to do the right thing for him at the right time. I think you get the picture?Trust in God to do what is best for you. Trust completely. Don't think. Know.

Body, the temple

The human body is a temple. The soul is the Deity in the temple. Both co-exist. It is extremely important for us to honor this temple. It is where God lives. How can we treat the body any less than we treat God? God communicates with our soul through the body. We are in constant union with the Cosmos through the body. Our 5 senses help us experience the union with God. We all love to visualize a beautiful God.

What is stopping us from visualizing ourselves as God? We all love to decorate our altar. What is stopping us from decorating the temple? God loves to be admired for Her beauty. Remember that She also loves to admire the beauty of Her children. Feel beautiful. You will look twice as beautiful! The body holds the seed for pro-creation. The body has the power to make love, to make a new life and to give birth. Use the body to take you closer to God. Invoke God in you by meditating, by Rei-ki, by Yoga, by Tai chi, by Pooja, by Tantra?whatever makes you feel good at heart. God exists in you?and in everybody around you.

On Health

Our body is a reflection of the mind. When the mind is positive and healthy, so is the body. We all have to be more expressive of our feelings, both positive and negative. To do that, we all need a healthy environment where we can express all what we feel and never be judged for our feelings. Feelings are real and there is no right or wrong.

Somebody who accepts all of who you are and still loves you, is a God-sent gift. They are God.

The general rule of thumb is, if we want something, we first give.

Love unconditionally and accept completely. The lack of such an environment leads to suppression and inhibitions. Soon, we are in this shell, suffocating and dying to break free. Body and mind co-exist. So, if you are not going to do something about your suppressed feelings, your body sure is! Your body finds ways to express your feelings. So, what is the solution, if you are unable to find that safe ground where you are loved unconditionally? Eventually you will, but meanwhile, what all of us have to do is love ourselves unconditionally. We have to accept whatever negative thoughts that come to us. Illnesses are nothing but negative seeds in your mind. If you don't kill these seeds, they will soon grow into a huge tree that will be so hard to cut.

Be aware. Accept.

Be a witness to your own mind.

Admire it, laugh at it and embrace it.

34. As High as A Kite

I was sitting on the beach the other day watching a kite (In the shape of a two winged aircraft) flying high in the sky. It made wonderful acrobatic maneuvers as if piloted by a person with a lifetimes experience of flying. However, we all know a kite cannot fly without the power of the wind. So how real was the performance I was watching?

Firstly, it took a person with great imagination to design a kite shaped like a tiger moth aircraft that can encompass the aerodynamics to be powered by the wind. That accomplishment in itself takes great skill and awareness of the forces of nature.

Secondly, the person who purchased the kite needs to read the instructions and learn how to apply the winds forces to achieve a great display. The mind and hand coordination requires a mastery to

attain the required skills.

Thirdly, without the power of the wind, the kite would just be a charming, colorful, textured replica of a Tiger Moth aircraft. We cannot see the wind....but we know it must exist, for we can feel it and see the consequences of its power.

So, we have a relationship between the designer and manufacturer which ultimately will connect to the user. It then needs a power of nature that cannot be seen in order to allow the kite to operate. The display I was observing had a lot of behind the scenes work that needed to be performed, before the show could go on.

But, where did the designer get his ideas from?

How did the user coordinate his thoughts with his hands?

What are the invisible forces in our lives that project all the physical actions we see all around us?

And what is more important...How real are they?

Are the intangible force the true reality and are the physical things we see, taste, feel, smell and hear just a manifestation of a display

that looks great, but is only a finite illusion?

Are we all flying our kites in a wind of fantasy?

Are we living a life with self- images that mask the truth of the real power of who and what we are?

Are we living on the breezes of discontent that takes away the true Love and Joy that we are intended to live?

Somewhere beyond our brains belief system and conscious awareness, lives the cosmic truth of a reality that creates "all things." Hidden in each cell of our being exists the secrets to divine immortality that transcends humanities divisions.

The next time you observe a kite flying high in the sky, become aware of the divine cosmic power of spirit that is flying your kite (Mind) to higher, elevated levels of True Love and Authentic Joy. Say to yourself out loud "I Have The Spirit to be Wealthy, The Soul To Be Healthy And The Heart To Be Wise."

35. Chasing after Your Dream

Dreams! How nice do they sound? I am not talking about the dreams we have when we are asleep but about the life long aspirations in each one of us. I am sure many or rather shoud I say all of us have goals in our lives. It could be the goal to be the next millionaire or to be a popular celebrity. Even if your goal is something small, you should be proud that you do have a goal.

Some never tend to think about goals in life. Although this may sound as a surprise it is ture. These people take life as it comes without planning and go with the flow of events in their life. But again there are many who love planning for everything in their life.

In fact, having a goal in life would make anyone more focused and determined in reaching that target. Wish to get a job as a web designer? Your dream can come ture if you work on your dream. How, you might ask? Start learning web-designing skills and when you're skilled, you will find that you can get your desired job easily. So, do you see that all it takes for your goals to materialize is some work on your part? I have heard some grumble that their dreas are just dreams and can never become true. Well, it all depends on what kind of goals you're aiming at. If you're dying to be the next star in Hollywood but you're camera-shy and you don't know anything about acting, your dream to make it big in Hollywood might remain as a dream. But if you're very determined to make it and you're already enrolling yourself in agting classes and talking to experiencedacors about acting, you can be pretty sure that you're already half-way there to make your dream into a reality. After all, if one is willing to put in the efforts, their goals can become within reach.

So never say that your dream will forever be a dream. Go ahead, plan on making that dream a reality and watch how easily you can attain that target.

Good luck.

36. A Proposal to Myself

I am writing this the day before I know my fate-the day before I know the answer to what will happen in my life. I am writing this with my mind set that I will carry on and not let life pass me by.

I am determined that I will see the world in every aspect that may be possible for me. I am sure that I will become something, even if the envelope that carries my life inside it gives me bad news.

I will not listen to those who insist that a university degree is the only way you will find a means of living these days.

I will ignore those who tell me that I am a dreamer without a dream.

I will tell myself that although I may not be accepted to college, I've seen the northern lights curtain themselves in front of me.

I have tasted the wine in Paris and swum in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

I have been to an Irish pub, and I have watched the sun rise from the Roman Forum.

I have climbed the Swiss Alps and counted the stars in the sky until I could see no more .

I have experienced what it is like to live, and I will tell myself that even if that envelope is small and exudes rejection, the person that they have rejected will carry on and go on to see more mountains and swim in more waters and keep on counting the stars, because somewhere it is written that I must continue to live my life the way I knows how to.

The envelope that will reach my mailbox tomorrow will bring an answer that I am ready to bear with courage and self-respect.

I will not cry, unless they be tears of joy for bidding goodbye to my childhood and welcoming in a new life–one that is mysterious and unknown, one that will teach me to grow and understand why things are the way they are, one that will out all my regrets and let my self-worth multiply.

I will be strong in my battle and not let little things bring me down, I will tell myself that it is okay to be scatterbrained once in a while and that sometimes the kindness you shoe will balance out your fails.

I will knows that I am a food person and that being smart doesn't necessarily mean that you are accepted into college..

I know who I am and there are brain surgeons who would be challenged sorting through my multi-faceted psyche.

I am independent by nature and a proud woman. I accept who I am and whether or not I am accepted into college. I will be true to myself and to others around me..

I will learn to carry on whit every goodbye I say at school this week. I will remember my friends and acquaintances and idols, and I will wish them the best of luck in life.

The envelope that has yet to reach my house will not be a letter, but rather a decision that I will make with my life.

I am confused, as are most people my age around this time, but I will not look back.

I will only look toward tomorrow and greet each day, wherever I am with a smile.

37. Humor Them

One of the requirements of every commencement speaker is that they offer some advice. Well, get ready, It here it comes.

Soon you will be leaving the company of those who think they have all the answers-your professors, instructors and counselors-and going out into what we like to call the real world. In time you will meet up with other people who think they have all the answers. These people are called bosses. My advice is: humor them.

A little later you will meet additional people who think they have all the answers. These are called spouses. My advice is: humor them, too.

And if all goes well, in a few years you will meet still another group of people who think they have all the answers. These are called children. Humor them.

Life will go on, your children will grow up, go to school, and someday they could be taking part in a commencement ceremony just like this one. And who knows, the speaker responsible for handing out good advice might be you. Halfway through your speech, the graduate sitting next to your daughter will lean over and ask, "Who is that woman up there who thinks she has all the answers?"

Well, thanks to the sound advice you are hearing today and that I hope you will all pass on, she will be able to say, "That is my mother. Humor her."
