Managing the Public Sector 9th Edition by Grover Starling
Combining the most current public management thinking and research with examples of how public executives and organizations apply these ideas, MANAGING THE PUBLIC SECTOR is a comprehensive introduction to the field of public management. The Ninth Edition continues to engage the student's intellect by providing more than just the basic foundations of management; it places the application of management in the context of the public sector and tries to capture the excitement and challenge of the field.
"[The case studies] are great situations that the students seem to understand when applying the concept from the chapter. Furthermore, they are relatively current situations, not something that happened in their grandparents early years". Jennifer (Symonds) Morrison, University of Alabama
"I particularly like the use of cases and supplemental reading at the end of each chapter. The author uses contemporary and vivid examples to illustrate the theoretical concepts in each chapter. Also, extensive review of the relevant literature is incorporated through out the text". Dr. Vidu Soni, Central Michigan University
